Hi, Jack! - the making of an early reader series
Greg Pizzoli will provide insight into the early reader series, "Hi, Jack!," and give you a glimpse into his creative process.
Presented by: Greg Pizzoli, 2018 PSLA Keynote Author
Information Literacy: The Fight Against Fake News
Information literacy is the best weapon against the "fake news", propaganda, and bias our students face on a daily basis. Join us for an informative presentation and discussion on identifying "fake news" as well as best practices for teaching information literacy skills with your students as well as your colleagues within your school.
Presented by: Sandra Reilly, Pleasant Valley High School; Robin Burns, Salisbury Senior High School
Refreshing the Library and Creating a Brand
You don’t need brand new bookshelves and tables to make your library look amazing! Learn how two libraries took some paint, some (wo)manpower, a few pieces of furniture and created a space students wanted to be in, parents valued, and staff used. This approach also supported tangible goals that tie into the Core Standards. In addition to refreshing your space, refresh the very idea of library! Learn how to brand yourself as essential, relevant, and fun!
Presented by: Emily Woodward, The Baldwin School
